Associate needed at a prominent New York City real estate law firm. This firm specializes in navigating complex administrative and judicial review processes.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in property incentive programs in NYC and can navigate the RSL, RSC, and DHCR’s policies and precedents.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with property tax incentive programs in NYC (421a, J-51, and 421g)
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and judicial reviews.
  • Advocate for clients before the DHCR, HPD, DOB, and ECB.
  • Stay updated on Rent Stabilization Law and Code.
  • Handle tenant complaints and DHCR proceedings.
  • Manage issues related to tax benefits, demolitions, and major capital improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with rent regulations and defend against TPU audits.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active NY State Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in administrative law, particularly related to real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of rent regulatory laws and litigation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation / Benefits:

  • $170K-$220K + bonus + % of originations.
