CVA Attorney

Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 2 years of experience for the defense of CVA (Child Victim Act) litigation cases. The position requires the attorney to analyze lawsuits, prepare pleadings, and conduct depositions and conferences. The ideal candidate must be organized, a team player, and able to handle a high volume of court appearances, both virtual and in-person.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct depositions and attend court conferences and motion practice.

- Participate as trial and/or appellate attorney in matters of significant exposure and complexity.

- Work independently in making decisions in file handling, communicating those decisions appropriately, and keeping the Legal Management Team apprised.

- Proficient in working in a paperless environment and skilled in video conferencing and computer legal case management systems.

- Maintain minimum billing requirements.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of four years of relevant litigation and trial experience, including liability and damages verdicts.

- Fully licensed to practice law in New York State and admitted to Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Willingness to work within the established system while also looking to improve processes and procedures and able to be flexible in all work assignments.

- Proficiency with computer software, including the current Windows Operating System, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Outlook, and the ability to adapt to new programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Salary: $90,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year (commensurate with experience).
